The Rev. Georgene (Gigi) Davis Conner
The Rev. Georgene (Gigi) Davis Conner became the
Vicar of St. Gregory's in September, 2009. Before going to
seminary, Gigi was the Director of Religious Education at Christ Church
Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She received a Master of
Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. in 1991 and
was ordained to the priesthood in 1992. Her ministries have been
at St. Paul's, Rock Creek Parish, in Washington, DC and St. Michael's
Church, Manhattan, New York. She also served as Canon Evangelist
at St. Peter's Cathedral, St. Petersburg, Florida in the diocese of
Southwest Florida for ten years. Gigi lives in Woodstock with her
cat Pete the Great (rescued from the organ pipes of St. Peter's
Cathedral)> She has two daughters; Megan, who lives in St.
Petersburg, and Catherine, who lives in New Orleans. When seeking
rest and renewal, the vicar goes to
Iona, Scotland or to Casa del Sol at
the Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico. She has a love for the
Celtic way of seeing the goodness of God in all creation and believes in
striving for the wholeness and well-being of all.
The Casa del Sol Prayer of Jesus
Ground of all being, Mother of life, Father of the universe, Your name is sacred, beyond speaking.
May we know your presence, may your longings be our longings in heart and in action.
May there be food for the human family today and for the whole earth community.
Forgive us the falseness of what we have done as we forgive those who are untrue to us.
Do not forsake us in our time of conflict but lead us into new beginnings.
For the light of life, the vitality of life, and the glory of life are yours now and for ever. Amen

Allan Duane, Assistant to the Priest-in Charge
Allan and Marie Duane settled first in Kingston with their two young
daughters when he took a position in the English department at SUNY
Ulster in Stone ridge in 1970. A life of teaching and writing in
Europe was exchanged for life in the Catskills. After Allan's
retirement from teaching, they moved to Woodstock. St. Gregory's
church became a central focus when Allan became the administrative
assistant to Fr. Tom Miller who was the priest-in-charge during
the 1990's. Today, Allan's work continues in the church office and
Marie's guiding hand in the Altar Guild fill much of their active life
in Woodstock. "there is always a more beautiful question for
everyone in St. Gregory's," they agree, "and somewhere down the road is
the promise of an ever more beautiful answer."
Jim Stewart: Minister of Music
Jim comes to us from Christ Church, Red Hook. He has a B.A. in music from Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and an A.O.S. from the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park – two different ways of feeding the soul! Jim has served in churches in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York in many denominational settings. In recent years he has worked with soloists from Bard Conservatory of Music/Bard Master of Vocal Arts Program. Jim and his partner of 29 years, David Sukowitz, reside in Hudson, New York with Fluferetta, their 2 year old cat and companion.
